Level 5

As many people may know there are lots of fires in the western states. For us we are at National Level 5 which is our highest level of preparedness for going to out of state fires. Basically, we make everyone available that we can spare. So, Theresa left on Saturday for Dubois Wyoming. She went as a squad leader for a twenty person crew.

As for me, on Monday I took over control of the Cavity Lake fire. I have a six person crew left and we are basically doing rehab on the admin areas that were used.

Other than that we are just waiting for fall/winter for things to slow down.
The lakes are extremely low so hopefully we get some moisture between now and
spring.

As I was driving up the trail yesterday morning I noticed that the leaves are starting to change already. With how dry it is I don't expect the fall colors to be as good as usual.

By the way we had a cool 40 degrees this morning...Can't wait for that first frost.

Since I'm incharge of the Cavity Lake Fire, I'll be staying around here...
