Time to Relax!!

Well not a hole lot has been going on lately around here. The weather has been decent so we've been out walking quite a bit. We are enjoying this time of not much to do since spring is looking to be busy. This last weekend we went walking out on Artist Point here in Grand Marais. It was really nice. Not many days when the wave are small and no wind coming off the lake. Then later in the afternoon on Saturday we went down to Cascade State Park which is about 10 miles south of town and walked about 2 miles up the bank of the Cascade river. Spring if definately moving in. The river usually has some nice fall to it but it is still frozen although you could here the water running underneath the ice. We woke up Sunday morning to a nice little thunderstorm and some rain. So, we pretty much stayed in the house and finished up some projects that we had started but hadn't finished.

Monday I helped pull the Wilderness signs off of 5 lakes. It was a pretty interesting day since when we started we could only see about 100 feet through the fog. It was kinda eerie on Sag with no snow left on the ice and virtually no visibility. We actually got a little turned around on Seagull lake and had to pull out the GPS to find where we were going. It's amazing what not being able to pick out any landmarks will do to a person out there. Anyway the sun finally burnt through the fog around noon and it turned out to be a great day. The first two pictures below were taken after the fog began to lift since none a my pictures during the fog were any good.

This coming weekend we're planning a trip down to the cities. Theresa has a wedding shower for her best friend Krista. And it is K One's Birthday. So, hopefully we'll get a chance to go out and have some fun. As of April 1st I go back to doing fire and begin getting things ready for what may be a busy season while on the other hand...This is Minnnesota and things can change awfully quick.....
