"Fire in the Hole"

This past week we got to do some blasting. We had two different projects one was rocks on a ski trail near Tofte the other was on the snowmobile trail near the Gunflint Trail. Both were very successful.Theresa connecting the 2# rockcrusher to the det cord. Rockcrushers are shaped charges that we place right on top of the rocks, the eliminate the need to drill into the rocks.

We can string as many rockcrushers together as we need to depending on the surroundings but usually stop at about 60. That's 120# of explosives. Usually that makes a pretty big boom.

After the blast we have to clean up the trail. Throw all the rock parts into the woods and fill in the craters to smooth out the trail.

After two long days we used about 500# of explosives and hopefully made the trails that much better for users. Could you ask for a better job??
