Is Winter Over Yet?

Not a whole lot has been happening up here. Theresa's been back to work for about 3 weeks now. She changed jobs a little this year. She is working in the recreation side of things rather then fire. So gets to do trail projects, campground and boat landing maintenance, and the such. She will still get to help out in fire when things are going on but won't be doing it on a day to day basis.

I'm back spending most of my time at the end of the trail. So far It's been pretty cold and wet. A big change from last year at this time. All the lakes, rivers and swamps are full. The last of the ice went off the lakes this last weekend and green-up is coming along. I actually have to mow our grass for the first time this year today.

May 3, two days before the anniversary of the Ham Lake Fire. What a difference a year makes.

Theresa rode her bike back home from Forest Lake. It started out as a 60 degree ride but by the time she reached Duluth it was 34 degrees and stayed that way all the way up the shore. Needless to say she was pretty cold by the time she got home.

Her dad rode with her up to Moose Lake until the temp started to drop and it got to cold for him.

Are new fire engine at the Seagull big change from the hillbilly wagon in the picture below that we used last year. (It's still a Ford though)

Theresa came across this Bald Eagle during her travels in Tofte country.

Hiking in Judge Magney State Park.
