Well nothing interesting has been happening around here. We've had a few days of really cold -25 degrees. That pretty much kept us indoors. We've had a little snow and ice as well. Theresa is still working around the house anxious to get back to work although she still has to wait until the middle of April at the earliest. I've been working mainly in the office this winter but still am able to squeeze a few trips out in the woods. This weekend we're heading down to the cities for the weekend.
Notice the smoke and the lack of snow. This picture was taken on Feb 7. It is almost exactly nine months since this old train trestle burned during the Ham Lake Fire.
This picture was taken on August 25. The picture below taken about the same spot today (Feb 7)
Notice all the spots where the snow has melted due the heat and burning below the surface. Apparently there are timbers treated with some chemical covered in gravel and sand.
